[FediForum](https://fediforum.org)
wrapped up yesterday. This twice yearly online conference is one that I look forward to every time.

Granted a lot of the technical talks are over my head, but the governance and societal topics surrounding the Open Social Web are top notch and lots of fun to participate in.

The keynote from Anil Dash during the first day was eye-opening and I’ll be sure to share it far and wide when it’s published. It’s a must watch.

A topic that stood out to me, above the other great topics, was the use of LLMs in development and contribution to OSW apps.

I get why many in the space are LLM-adverse. But I also see the value of using LLMs to assist with coding.

[FediDeck](https://fedideck.app)
, my Tweetdeck-like app for the Fediverse and ATmosphere, was build using LLMs. Was I actively involved in every part of its development? Yes, minus writing a bunch of the code. Every feature was something I decided on adding or a HUMAN suggested.

I think it sucks that people who use LLM-assisted tech to build cool things are scared to disclose that fact. I feel that there’s tons of ways to build cool shit. This is just another way.

Anyhow, the next FediForum is in the spring of 2027. It’s not to expensive to get a ticket and well worth it. I suggest checking it out!
