What a series.

What an ending.

Yes it’s kind of horror, but more a thriller. Hard to believe that it’s been going for 10 years. Granted we had a global pandemic that caused it to be that long as well between some seasons.

I finished the Stranger Things series finale last night with probably half the population of the United States that were invested in watching it. And it didn’t disappoint.

I didn’t think the fact that the main characters were significantly older than they were in Season 4 that much of a put off.

I promise no, obvious, spoilers only that it the ending was really good.

I’m still surprised that I watched it at all, being that it’s monsters and has a horror tinge to it. But the nostalgia of the 1980s (a bit before my time but not much) really kept me captivated.

I’m solidly a 90s kid, having been born in ’81. But lots of what the references applied to the 90s as well, especially the early part of that decade.

I like that the show wasn’t just an action/horror moving, but also tackled social issues of various kinds and didn’t shy away from anything.

I’m glad I watched it and I hear rumblings of a spin-off. Until then I’m going to enjoy digging into the real-life aspects of the show, ie. [The Montauk Project](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Montauk_Project)
. That is what the whole series was based on.

**Series Rating**: 9.5/10 — some seasons weren’t as good as others.
**Season 5 Rating:** 9.5/10 — a few episodes were a bit weak but overall it was superb.
