Sharing Between Protocols

Red backlit keyboard and code on laptop screen create a tech-focused ambiance.

So, I’ve wanted to figure out the best way to utilize both the AT-Protocol and the ActivityPub protocol and how they can talk to each other.

There’s an app/service called Brid.gy on both ActivityPub (Mastodon/Fediverse) and on the AT-Protocol. What it does is nothing less than awesome. It creates accounts both ways so people on both protocols, if opted-in properly, can follow and chat with each other.

One thing I wanted was to limit the amount of excess accounts that I have. I wanted my posts from my Mastodon account @phillycodehound to “natively” show up on my @s3th.me Bluesky account. I figured that out via my pro-paid account on Zapier.

The only issue I have is going backwards from Bluesky to Indieweb.social. Right now I’m using ap.brid.gy for that so it’s still a separate “account” to follow.

But, when I figure out how to have my skeets show up natively as toots I’ll let you know.

That last sentence gave me a chuckle.
