I’m sitting on the top of a mountain in the Green Mountains of Vermont. On my computer writing.

The air is crisp and the foliage is green. As I’m writing I’m realizing that Vermont is special place. A place where natural world meets the modern world.

Bears, Deers and Moose run free up here. Yes, yes they have to contend with the modern trappings of the humans, but ultimately up here in Vermont it’s their country.

Vermont has always held a special spot in my heart. Lots of families from the Philadelphia-area go “down the shore.” That’s their happy places. For me it’s Vermont.

The people are, generally, more courteous, and less in a rush. In Vermont, the light pollution is minimal and the adventures are just around the bend.

Vermont, like the Jersey Shore, has beaches. But these beaches are along pristine lakes, that beckon to be swam in and often are.

Vermont is a state of mind.
