Apparently India assassinated a prominent Sikh Canadian activist on Canadian soil.
Of course Canada is pissed. When Canadians went to Facebook to post about it, Facebook took their posts down because it went against Indian law.
This is why we need decentralized social media.
The centralized players have way too much power.
With an open web, tools and protocols like the Fediverse thrive. And people’s opinions flow more free.
Now this comes with its own issues
Free speech can be ugly too.
So really there is no good answer, but the open and federated web is better in my opinion.
