Zwifting It Through The Winter

So it’s in the single digits outside with negative wind chills. So clearly I’m not going out to ride.
But I need to exercise. I tried the fitness videos. Man I’m not coordinated off my bike. So I decided to try Zwift.

It’s a computer program that you use in conjunction with a bike trainer. It is a virtual world where people from all over the World ride together.

The companion app on my Google Pixel makes it even more imersive.
It ties in nicely with Strava a social network for cyclists (and runners).

Give it a try free for 7 days. After that it’s $14.99/mo. Which is totally worth it.

Do you Zwift? What do you think of it?

Oh that crazy thing called a trainer

So… I finally got back on the trainer again yesterday. I did 4 miles and called it quits. It’s so boring and dull. I watched a podcast, but still got bored. Suggestions?

I actually got back on the trainer today. Though short

So I actually got back on the trainer today after a two week or so break. Man, I hate that thing. It’s a torture device, but I know that if I keep at it during the cold months it’ll pay off in the warm ones.

Need To Get Back On The Trainer

So I haven’t been on the trainer in weeks. I really need to get back on it asap, I’m getting fat. I know I have to eat right as well, but exercise is important. Just have to find the time to get all sweaty. Haha.

Early Morning On The Trainer

I thought I’d give getting up early and jumping on the trainer a try. Ugh, that sucked. It sure is hard getting up at 6:20 am and going down on the trainer to start your day. I could only eek out 2 miles before having enough. I guess that’s better than nothing.

Got a Trainer and Loving The Option

So I just bought a used  trainer for my bike. It’s going to be great for the winter when I can’t get out riding. Since it’s “new,” I’ve been using it the past few days to get the hang of it. It’s not the same as riding a bike, but it’s not bad though. It still kicks your ass and makes you sweat, probably more than when you’re on a bike (well depending on where you’re riding). The trick to a successful ride on the trainer is to find a good video to watch. I found this one:

Do you use a trainer at all? What tips can you share with me?
