We Survived 4 days/3 Nights On Our Own

AireDoodle on brown leather couch.

This weekend my wife, Meredith, went on a much needed break to Cape Cod with her girl friends from college.

This left me home with the 11 yr old pre-teen. He and I did pretty good, minus some butting of heads.

Last night and this morning were a bit tough because we were both ready for Mere and her structure to come back.

Both me and my son are ADHD and that makes things interesting. Neither of us have patience or listen that well. We’re both stubborn too. This makes for an interesting mix — to say the least.

Anyhow, he’s off at school, Mere’s on her way home. We’re both, rightfully and equally ready for her to come. At least it’s mutual.

Overall, I know I can parent solo, but it’s not fun. That’s for sure.

I appreciate Mere so much as it is, but even more when she’s gone for a bit.

Everyone’s alive and so is Olive the Airedoodle. So that’s good.
