Microsoft is rebuilding its Edge browser on Chrome and bringing it to the Mac – The Verge

Microsoft is going to be moving its Edge Browser to use the Chromium engine. This is big news because now most browsers will be using the open source version of Chrome.

Is this a good thing? I’m not sure. On one hand, as a Web designer/developer I’ll need to test sites on one less platform. But on the other hand there is less competition and Google’s, albeit open source, browser engine will be dominant?

What do you think?
