New Year… Reflections… Already

We’re just barely into the new year, about a week, and I feel like I need to reflect already on how the year is going.

In today’s hyper-connected world life moves fast… really fast. With this in mind, I’m feeling like I need to reflect on the the first days of the new year.

  • Politically, we’re in a tinderbox. I’ll leave it there.
  • Australia is in a literal tinderbox because of climate change (I feel so bad for all those people and animals).
  • Getting work started up after a holiday seems harder than usual. It seems as though lots of people are treading water these first few days. Hopefully the first FULL week of 2020 will invigorate people to start getting down to business.
  • My goals are starting off well. Still need to implement the gym, but over all I’m doing what I need to do to be present.

I’m beginning to think I’m nuts for trying to evaluate the year so soon. But I thought I’d give it a crack.

New Year… New Decade

2020 is almost here. With it comes not only a new year, but a new decade.

Looking back on the past decade and how much has changed, technologically, politically, culturally. Both good and bad things have happened.

This morning, I sat down at my desk and started thinking and reflecting on this decade. Lots of changed have happened to me this decade.

  • My son was born, that definitely changed my life for the better.
  • I joined and subsequently left the corporate world.
  • I restarted up Goldstein Media after leaving the corporate world.
  • Goldstein Media v2 has been much more successful than v1 thanks to all my experiences leading up to it.
  • My wife and I celebrated 10 years of marriage.

So much has happened. It’s hard to recall it all in one sitting.

As scary as the world might seem, I’m grateful for so much in my life. My parents, my wife and son, my family in general, my friends and colleagues.

Life is definitely sending out lemons lately (especially politically), but it’s our job to make them in to lemonade and make this next year and decade count.

What are you grateful for this last decade? What are you going to do this coming decade differently to truly rock it?

Embrace The Suck – Scott DeLuzio

In fact, a study by U.S. News found that 80% of New Year’s resolutions fail by February. That study goes on to say that the reason why those resolutions fail is because we don’t change our mindset first.

This is so true. If you don’t start with setting your mindset up for success you’re not going to succeed. This is a great article.
